ADVANCED EGYPT: The Last Hurrah

Our fifth, last and best Advanced trip! We'll start with a cruise of Lake Nasser created by the High Dam, then get glimpses of Edfu and Esna before settling in to Luxor! Led in part by University of Chicago specialists, we'll 'work' behind the scenes at Luxor Temple, Medinet Habu; visit the Valley of the Kings and a couple of surprises. BERLIN BARGE

This year's IH barge trip takes a cruise into the heart of Germany. No giant shared cruise ship for us! Instead we'll travel in style aboard our own boat, the Merlijn, through the picturesque countryside of two German states (Brandenberg and Saxony-Anhalt). Along the way we'll visit the mighty cities of Magdeburg, Brandenburg and Berlin as well as some of the hidden treasures of the Romanesque Road. Medieval towns, soaring cathedrals, world class museums, opulent palaces, and a UNESCO world heritage site or two - join us for another great trip. This time led by 'Ken the Younger' Orosz!
